Which Redline Tranny Fluid?

Done some searching around, most people seem to do many different mixes of DW1 and different Redline oils.
Most often I see Redline Racing ATF or D4, or both.
What about the Lightweight Racing, or D6 fluids?
I've even seen people claim they've used D4, Racing and lightweight racing oils mixed together. Any input on doing this?
My tranny has about 13k on it since rebuild (bought the car with fresh rebuild) and while the shops paperwork says they used Honda fluid, I've always doubted it, and for peace of mind, I'd like to start getting the fluid changed out.

What a headache.. Just use DW-1 and call it a Day....
Rebuilt trans are like any other Original Trans it will die nothing you do will stop it.

Your best bet is to Install:
1.- ATF Cooler (Not for trans itself but to help the ATF last longer and dont break down as fast from Heat)

2.- Magnefine Inline Filter (It will help catch the Clutch pack debris, Keep ATF Clean and keep solenoids Clean).

3.- Change 1 and 2 every Year (It will be costly but guarantee to make the trans last the longest it can).

I have been in that mode since I rebuild my trans very cheaply (1300 bucks) and have around 95,000K and 5 years on it.. With nothing but Sport Shift 24/7 on work days except on Highways still going Strong as the first day installed.

yeah go with the new honda atf for us to keep soft smooth shifts,,redline takes that away
with every other oil change-= 15kmiles, change half of it..one drain and refill,,or two is even better
correct fluid level when done is critical

Now, do a full fluid changeout..9 to 12 quarts depending on how you read it
or if installing a cooler and filter- do an engine running flush- as fluid goes out you add new..not for the faint of heart~

wont hurt to replace external filter and clean shift selenoids
all the new parts of a rebuild shed some material as they bed in

If you don't care to read at least two multi-page threads in the third gen forum, here's the abbreviated version. Mixing racing with lightweight racing gives a viscosity closer to oe than running either. The addition of d4 to the mix came about when one of the thread's two main contributors experienced a problem that acted like a shift flare or slipping, but was determined to be overlap of two clutches being engaged. If I hadn't experienced the exact same thing, I wouldn't have believed it. One of the thread's main contributors still doesn't, and advocates all racing fluid with no d4 in order to minimize clutch slipping which causes accelerated wear and heat. You're not gonna find a lotta love for anything but honda fluid in the 2g section, but a lot of 3rd gen owners have had really good results with redline.

Honda says GM Dexron III is a suitable replacement for Honda ATF but may degrade shift quality. Redline D4 is a Dex III replacement, i.e. safe. The change in shift quality isn't really noticeable at all, but the shifts are much quicker, I run a blend of Racing and D4, shifts like a dream. My Chevy has a shift kit that breaks your neck, so I may be biased towards thinking it shifts incredibly soft but you'll never have a passenger complain, you might be the only one to notice a difference.

I have been using Redline Type F fluid....I have done a 5x4 so far and have seen no issues....Recently, I installed the transmission cooler and replaced the OEM filter....also did the 3rd and 4th switches.....

I like the shifts and with Redline being synthetic, I am pretty sure it provides better protection for the transmission....

I am from the 3G side btw....

Thanks for the input everybody.
I think I'll be going with the redline fluid.
