Rearview Mirror- Story with a happy ending!
Just a word of thanks to this forum and all the posters. I had my rearview mirror replaced by Magna Donnelly at no cost: Thanks to Jean Glover of that company as well as to all of you who have been through this already!
I didn't want to take the risk of installing it myself and potentially breaking the windshield, so I made an appointment of Precision Acura in Lawrenceville, N.J. When I arrived for the appointment, I was told that there is a real risk of windshield breakage, even if their technicians do the work, and that Acura couldn't be held responsibel if that occurred.
Throwing the dice, I allowed one of the techs, John (who said he's performed 50 mirror replacements since 1999 with only one windshield breaking) to do the work. Literally 5 minutes later, the mirror is installed, no busted windshield, and I'm on my way. No charge from Acura either! The mirror only cost $20 (as a tip to John).
So Thanks to Precision Acura and to John then technician!
