Rear spoiler question

I just bought a new TL-S and had the body kit put on. I was considering putting a rear spoiler on the car but havent come to a clear decision yet. I always thought that four door cars with a spoiler looked retarded but they guy at the shop said "it makes the car". I got the car about two weeks ago and finally placed my order for a set of chrome Advan Model 5s. I got the windows tinted and put a down order on the Pioneer DVD 7" touch screen indash. I dont know what else I will do, probably just sway bars and lower it.

But anyways what is your opinions of the spoiler?

P.S. Not getting the Navigation is the best choice ive made, It would have been a waste of money cause the indash touch screen DVD players come with navi anyways

I had never owned a car with a rear spoiler until I picked up my 03 TL-S. I liked the look of the OEM rear spoiler, and dug deep in my pockets to get it. Sure, I would have loved to get the factory body kit as well, but I had no more $. To me, a TL with the rear spoiler just looks better. If you got the body kit, might as well go all the way and get the matching spoiler too and complete the look. Just my opinion of course.

As for the NAVI, mine is non-NAVI - but that is because they don't offer it in Hawaii - no coverage. Couldn't afford it anyway even if they offered it.

DON'T GET A SPOILER!

Our cars look so sweet with just the body kit on them. I got my 03 TL-S in Silver 2 months ago and can't wait to get my kit. Just my opinion, but I think it's a good one. By the way, what color did you get?

IMO the car looks cleaner WITHOUT the factory spoiler.
I don't know what percentage of the cars are sold with them, but it seems like most of the TL's I see that have a spoiler, have some real old guy driving it.
Anyway, I think the TL-S looks better without it.
There was TL-S I saw in a picture somewhere that had a different type of spoiler on it that just "sat" on the trunk. For some reason I really liked the look of that, but I have no idea who makes it.
Whatever way you decide to go, good luck with your car.

Well ... different people have different taste.

IMHO ... the sport sedan is not really "sporty" without the rear spoiler.

I got my installed when I bought my TL-S. Have to dig deeper into my saving account to pay for it.

Just my $0.02.

Cheers !!!

Same here. I don't like the way that to trunk looks w/o the spoiler. It probably would look better if the end of the trunk was higher. Again, it's just personal preference.

Black on Black my friend, just like crime in America. I didnt get the spoiler for a reason but I wish I got the Wings West body kit, it looks better than the Acura body kit. I dont think I will get the spoiler but that remark about old men driving the TL with a spoiler made me laugh. I will probably just spend the loot on the wood steering wheel and maybe some Comptech springs. I dont know what else I can change about my car without taking some of the smoothness out of it, I got it for comfort and I owned a Legend that went to 200,000 miles and was still running smoothly before I got this car. Any suggestions on other mods that would do well and not make my car have a rough ride? I heard sway bars make the ride less smooth

Get Mugen Spoiler!!! Its small but it makes your TL standout from the others! It looks real good from the side.

I have to agree with GTPDriver, our car does look extremely nice without a spoiler. I was surprised to see some pics in the gallery w/o one and it still looked classy. I have to modify my car to set it apart from those that bought a TLS because they needed a "four door" so I put a WW on it. And because I'm so into modifying my ride, but with or without you can't go wrong. I can't stand the factory spoiler though, too typical.

Drive by TL-S, you need to tell me about your indash dvd player! How much did it cost? Can you give me the link to the website. Thanks a lot!

I will definitely post pics of the Advan wheels, they should arrive in 4 weeks cause I ordered them a week ago and they are special ordered from Japan to Gruppe-S in Seattle.

Andrewsky, I havent gotten the indash DVD player yet, I just put a down payment of $500 at Myer-Emco on it. Its supposed to be released to the public in late July/August. It is $2,400 without installation and they should have info on it at Pioneer.com The reason I went with the Pioneer as opposed to the Clarion is because the Clarion touch screen is clunky looking and uses heat as the indicator on the touch screen. Pioneers looks better even with the component closed and has much smoother lines. Pioneers new 7" indash also uses a different technology which uses changes in light for the touch screen. There is another company that has an english name that makes their 7" indash DVD adjustable vertically as well as horizontally, but I never heard of the company before and that pretty much settled my choice

I don't like the OEM spoiler; but body kit with BMW M5 spoiler would looks nice.
