RE: Exhaust Tips

Hey guys,

Just wondering what type of exhaust tips would look good on my 1999 Acura TL 3.2. I have a Wings West body kit and I want some tips that will sort of classy and not ghetto. Just a little bigger than the original exhaust tip and also that it sticks out so that you can see it. The kit is completely hiding my exhaust and I want the tips to show. I did see some tips on the accessories page, but don't know about the size too much and also will it come out underneath the kit so that it can be seen? Please any info would be very helpful.

Thanks,

3A Tips in TO

samkws,

Since I might be getting the bodykit this week... I might consider these. (The mods never end )

Any chance you've seen these in any auto-store in Toronto. I just want to take a look in person before I buy them. Also curious how much retailers sell it here.

So... Are these the 3A Exhaust Tips or Acp? Or are they the same? Just want to know which one to purchase.

Thanks

I'm in 604. I have the 3A tips from this site and they're great. Send Tim a note that you're interested and he'll hook u up. You won't regret it. I've searched and found the quality and looks of these ones to be the best for my 2000.

I also have the 3A tips with OEM Bodykit. They definetely look better than the OEM tips when you have a body kit.

I have these tips on my 99 SSM, w/o a body kit. And I love them. The stock ones are too small, and don't go all the way to the muffler. These are bigger, nut not ricey. IMO, they are definately worth the 50 bucks.

I have them and don't have a kit and I think they look great! If you don't have a body kit, you can easily see where the stock tips end. The 3A tips go all the way to the muffler, so you don't see the skinny tail pipe.

It's very subtle, but I think it finishes off the back nicely.

Dee,

I had to pay customs, but not as much as you think. ;-) Give it a go, and send Tim here a note. Took about 5 days UPS to the house.

Be careful with the ones from JC Whitney....I ordered a set from them a while back, and they need to be welded on...no bolts....they were returned the next day. Then I bought the Pilot ones locally, and they looked great....but they aren't stainless throughout, and after a winter in the northeast, they were all rusted on the inside, and they looked like crap....so now I have the 3A tips, and they are a bit longer than the Pilot, but they still look good, and they are stainless inside\out, so there should be no rusting. I don't have a kit.....I actually like the look of the pilots better, the 3A tips stick out maybe a 1/4" farther, but they still look way better than stock tips......good luck!!

very good money and headache saving tip, swhtech! their site is down now for maintenance but i thought i read that those pilots had bolts to attach to the tips and that the insides were galvanized. doesn't galvanized mean it'll protect it from the weather therefore rust???

if u look at EDub-TL's pix with the 3As on, they don't stick out a ridiculous amount. really nice look. looks like i'll be getting those for sure.

The Pilots do have bolts, just like the 3A, but I don't think they are made as well.....not stainless throughout.....I'm pretty sure the Pilots are available at a lot of local autoparts stores.....the 3A's may also be available locally. I know the ones I ordered from JCW were weld on only......enjoy whichever ones you end up getting.....they look so much better!!
