Rattling is only occuring when one of several factors disrupts the car natural driveabilitt. 1. Your front drivesside tire is bad. 2. You need an alignment done. 3. You need to balance the left driveside tire and might as well balance all of your tires. 4. You have a bad shock or tie rod end on that tire. 5. You have powerful sub(s) that rattle your care if that case nothing you can do about it because mine doe same thing accept my whole car shakes. I have two Orion 12" Comp DVC's in a sealed box.

I think our cars also have a lot of rattles that can (possibly) occur, without it reflecting on problems with alignment/etc (especially as our cars get older). It's a pretty common complaint, if the poster searches the forums he can probably find out how the dealer fixed it. Some rattles/squeaks took people a long time to track down and fix.

And if you have subs, it's all over (thankfully the bass drowns out the rattles inside my car, but from outside my car it sounds like a civic that's about to fall apart).

Can you go to the dealer with the understanding that if they don't fix it you won't pay anything, or do you have to pay for their time either way?
