Rattles in the rear deck... so annoying.

Over every bump, every pothole, or any road irregularities, the rear deck shakes like it's about to fall apart. It's extremely annoying. Any good fixes?

You are referring to the rear sub covering, yes? If so...it's some bolts that you need to tighten.

my rear sub cover also rattles when I have a lot of bass on a song. I showed the dealer the problem, and they're ordering me a new sub cover next week.

I'm not sure though if this will fix the problem entirely....

what else could it be?

Yeah, it's mostly the sub cover, ill*tl. I guess I'll take it apart later today and see if anything's loose underneath.

I had the same problem and it drove me crazy. When I had 2 - 10" speakers put it it made the problem worse. The stereo shop installed some material called 'dynamat' in the rear deck and the truck lid and it fixed the problem. Now with or without the stereo, the car does not make the rattling that it did before. The cost on the dynamat (installed) was about $175-, but it was worth it. Good luck!

if you install yourself, then the cost of the material on the invoice was $35... labor is what was most expensive.

Hey guys - I had the same rattling - I complained to the dealership about it, and they replaced the whole rear deck under warranty - get the most out of your warranty. They shouldn't complain about it. Saved me alot of money, and it fixed the rattling!
