Rattles in back of car
I am experiencing a rattle in the back of my car. I took it to the dealership and they thought it was related to the back speaker. They tightened the subwolfer bolts in the trunk. It seemed to work temporarily. But now the rattle is back after less than a week! How has acura responded in the past to fixing these types of problems?

Melissa - this sorts of things can be aggravating. Here is some advice from someone who has been through the wringer many times.
1) Be very exact in your language. It will help the technicians fix your problem. A rattle is usually a metal to metal sound. That is quite different from a buzz or a squeak. Describing it accurately helps techies (like me) know where to look
2) Do not just drop the car off and say fix the noise. Arrange for the service tech or even the mechanic to ride with you.
3) Ask someone to ride in the back seat and listen for the exact spot of the noise. Have them try pressing down or pulling up on trim piece, housings, etc to see if that increases or lessens the disturbance.
Acura has been good in my experience, but I have always had a bit of an advantage in "helping them along".
Try that - hope it works for you.

If it sounds like it's coming from the trunk area it could be the trunk lid itself. I had a clunking sound in the trunk of my '93 Nissan Sentra SE-R that was caused by not having the bumper stops for the trunk lid properly aligned. I believe someone else on this board posted the exact same symptoms on a different thread. When the trunk closes, it rests not only in the latch mechanism, but on some rubber bumper stops. If these are set too low (trunk lid not touching them when latched), the trunk lid will bounce up and down in the latch mechanism ever so slightly and cause a clunk/thunk sound. Easy fix--hand screw in our out to adjust to proper height. Also, a loose trunk latch mechanism on the inside of the trunk can cause the same problem.
