I have an '03 TL with the stock Bose HU, and a USA Spec PA-Hon11 iPhone adapter connected to my iPhone 4s. I have had the PA-HON11 for about six years. It has had it's ups and downs, many that have been well documented here: Err1 issues, Code issues, etc. Mine has had these as well, unfortunately they dont occur in a regular pattern so I can't troubleshoot it accurately.

Recently, it has been doing something new. While playing music from my iPhone, I will suddenly lose sound from one side of my car (usually the right side). At first I could shut off the radio, unplug the iPhone, wait a minute, plug the iPhone back in and it would work. But now when it happens I have to shut off the radio, unplug the iPhone, and wait anywhere between 5 minutes to longer. I have shut off the car, gone in into Best Buy, come back 30 minutes later and it still won't work. It also makes this weird noise. If I pause the music on the iPhone, and turn up the radio, I can hear a beep at regular intervals. I know it's only with the PA-Hon11 because when this happens, I can play a CD, the radio, or a tape and I get full sound.

Has this happened to anyone here? Is the unit crapping out? Anyone have suggestions for a possible replacement? I can't replace the HU right now because of cost.
