RainX... apply on YES or NO?

Question RainX... apply on YES or NO?

hello all...

its raining here in California... its so hard to drive in the rain on the roads... my friend told me about the RainX... he said its one of the best product you can find and it will help you drive better in the rain...
does anyone have the RainX applied on their car? if so... how was it? should i put them on?

Put it on. When it rains hard and if you are driving above 35mph, you do not need to turn on your wipers. I highly recommend rain x.

Rain-X is GREAT!

1. Apply
2. Let dry
3. Apply again
4. Let dry
5. Wipe off excess

If you really want to see how well Rain-X works only apply Rain-X to half of your windshield.

apply rain-x definately...it works well here in MN when rain and snow and slush fly on your windshield...

RainX also makes a defogger...don't use that. it sux big time...I had it on my old car. But rainx for rain is good.

Yeah, the defogger sucks. It left a greasy film on the inside of my windows and windshield that took forever to get off. Applying it evenly was tough, too.

But RainX is fantastic.

Rain-X for rain is great stuff, but it wears away in like a month or so and you have to reapply for results. I used to swear by the stuff but haven't put any on my TL 'cause it's kinda a pain to apply.

I also Rain-X my headlights. It appears to help the headlights cut through the rain better. It could also be my imagination.

I've been using RainX for over 6 years. I apply that to all glasses, headlights and even tail-lights. The only problem of RainX is that unless you drive above 30mph, the water on the windshield stays as little droplets. That also happens when it's drizzling. I'd say it's best for highway use.

i applied some on my windows later today then went out with couple of my friends... i did some local drives and freeways...
wow! the result was incredible!!!
i dont even need to wipe the front windsheild...

should i apply on more cause the wipers wiped out the soulutions? how often should i apply them?

The stuff is great, also works well to get snow and ice off of your windshield. We were supposed to get hit with a Huuuuge snowstorm eher in NYC, but it fizzled and turned to sleet and freezing rain. I applied some RainX to my windshield yesterday in preparation, and the days accumulation of ice from teh freezing rain came off my car without a problem.
Just reapply when the water no longer beads up and sheets off the windshield. Too much can cause wiper chatter.

I use liquid glass on all my windows and water bead off better than rainx. Had been doing that for the last 10 years.

RainX is the coolest stuff!!! I use it on all my cars. Just remember to reappply once n awhile when you see that its starting not to work as well. I highly recommend the stuff.
1) apply with paper or cloth towel like wax
2) wait for it to dry
3) remove with a damp towel
4) wipe again with dry towel
Repeat (1-4) for better coverage.

I use Rain-X too. I still use my wipers though, since Rain-X isn't meant to be a wiper substitute but a supplement.

A word of caution: Rain-X can strip paint, so do yourself a favor and apply it to your car carefully. It's not a very strong solvent, but I've seen it remove the finish from a car before.

Um, I didn't know about that. Anyway I usually I apply that using a soft cloth after a car-wash. Fortunately I haven't seen any paint problem on my 8 year-old Civic.

After awhile it is kind of a pain in the ass. And I hate the film, you have to buff pretty hard to get a crystal clear shine on your glass. also, in the morning it makes your windshield dew a lot more for some reason. other than that it's great.

Yeah, Rain-X is good stuff, but beware of imitation products. Had a friend who used Prestone and it lasted about one rainstorm. BTW, Rain-X is ideal for highway use as mentioned earlier.
