Post Rain-X in headlight assembly

Anyone ever thought about treating the headlight lenses on the inside with Rain-X before putting them back together? I think it would help out somewhat. But yes I kno it'll wear off but it would offer some degree of protection no?

Why would you put RainX on the inside?

To cut down on the chances of them fogging up. Some members have encountered fog buildup in their lights once they have cleared them.

The only thing i would be concerened about it the chemicals in the rainx and any effect that could have on our HID's

My question also why would you put it on the inside. I have used Rain-X on my last cars headlights outside but not the TL. Here is what I do I use BLUEMAGIC Plastic & Plexiglass Cleaner & Light Scratch Remover its made for all clear plastics. It Cleans,Restores optic clarity & Protects.
I also wipe the headlights almost every day with some paper towel & Ammonia Free glass cleaner like Eagle 20/20 or ClearVue they are safe for tinted windows. My headlights are always clean. Okay I see you cleared out you lights but Rain- X contains alcohol kinda harsh.

It's for us who have cleared them, there's a high chance that all of us who've cleared them has had some moisture build up esp since it's been raining here in SoCali, I'm sure almost all of us here right now have some, and I'm saying even just minute amounts of moisture, if I was just wondering if using Rain-X would cut down the moisture build up..that's all..

The only serious concern I would have is the heat from the HID's. If there is a film on the inside of the headlights, it could burn or discolor from the heat, and might even cause the lights to burn out from excessive heat production in the light assembly...
