raced a fast altima
I was racing with a 3.5 se altima over the weekend. It had dual exhaust, drop and some rims. Damn it was faster than i thought. We were going about 80 when i pulled up next to him for a run. I went to third and was pulling away from him but not as fast as i would like to!! he was right there with me. We hit 110 and I was still pulling on him but there was a car in my lane so I had to shut it down. Wasnt a very long race but I knew I got him so I was pleased.
That was my first race and I wasnt sure if I could have hit second or not. I heard 115 is about max for 3rd. Could I have hit 2nd at 80? Because I sure would like to!

Good job! and no you cant hit 2nd after about 62mph. Keep in mind according to the Honda report to NHTSA a 5th to 3rd drop down is the main culprit to a failed tranny due to a an incredible amount of isulated heat in the 3rd gear clutch pack. But hey dont make a 260hp type S if it cant handle it.

Nice kill on the altima! Good thing you got into 3rd gear. Above 85 mph, our cars refuse to go into 3rd for some reason and you would of got stuck in our tall 4th gear (and you would have been screwed!).
Tip for all.....whenever your racing at such high speed, MAKE SURE YOU GET INTO 3rd gear (its our best gear)!
