This was my second race against an 03 Maxima. The first time seemed very even with us having several rolling starts on the highway. IT was hard to tell who was pulling on whom because we always raced front to back.

This morning I was side by side with an 03 Maxima and we both were doing 65 behind a cop. The cop took an exit and we both looked at each other. I noticed he gunned it so I followed suite. We went from 65 to about 110 and I was pulling on him. By 110 I was a bout two cars infront of him. We both shut it down and went our seperate ways.

I know Maximas are quick out of the gate but on the highway, I think we can pull on them. Oh, I do have CAI, but that is it.

I have both without that CAI you wouldnt have pulled like that, how do you know it was an 03?

From the tailight and headlight design, which changed in 02, as you probably know. It was a typo when I said 03 above, I meant 02. I don't believe the 03s are out yet???

Well, I'm pretty knowledgeable about the 02 and 03 max's considering I almost bought one. I love those cars. Both the 02 and 03 sport the exact same engine, and the only real difference between the 02 and 03 are some minor cosmetic changes along with the availability of the Titanium Package. Both the 02 and 03 have the round taillights with the chrome. So for all intents and purposes the 02 and 03 max's are the same car.

And the 03 max's are definitely out. I can't offer any input on either car's abilities to 'pull' at certain speeds. I found the TL-S and Max to be similar in terms of speed and torque.

I can as well I have both an 02 Max and the TLS. No cosmetic changes where made to the 03 only the optional Titanium Package which adds bright alooy rims and a barely noticeable titanium inerior trim. Other than the normal Line Maximas from 02 and 03 are identical.

Yeah, polished rims. If it is silver, then it is a 2003 as that is new for the year.

I raqced my boss and his '03 maxima. I got my '03 TL-S and we lined up and Harrison St. in San Francisco. For all you peeps in S.F you know what I'm talking about. Lined up and I beat him at the start and I won by 1 sity block. Dusted his ****. He was mad as hell but we cool. I can wait to rac him again. He will be even further behind after I get my goodies.

Yeah the new Maximas are fast, but has anyone seen their crash ratings in the Insurance Institues Crash Tests? The Maxima is horrible!! Our TL's fair much much better.

Yap... saw the crash pic as well....(no offense to Monte TLS,MAX, or any other Max owners)... Max was one of the Worst of its class...

Yes I know, no biggy to me istill would have bought it because I like it. I know that the 97-99 Maxima where the safest of the more recent ones.
