on star for our cars is no longer supported due to them switching over to a digital cellular network.

I think the analog service ends next year. It should still work. GM is offering retrofits for their models, but sadly not for our cars.

It is the analog service that no longer works. The old systems will still work as long as it uses the digital network. The digital network is the same networks that Verizon uses.

So if verizon is not available, your services will not work.

I work for Chevrolet and I never knew that Onstar was available in Acura/Honda? What models had it?

The reason that our Acura's onstar won't be upgraded is that Acura refuses to make the upgrade available. It is not a decision by Onstar.

Perhaps we can get a letter writing campaign or a petition.

If enough of us complain perhaps we can get Acura to change the decision.

Any one have any thought on this?

Thanks

I was thinking of maybe setting a bluetooth using the mic and speakers too.

Only the 2003 TL with Navigation had it. Sadly, they also upped the price by 150 to cover the cost of the now worthless onstar. (if you bought the car new)

I should add that the MDX and the RL had Onstar--but I don't know which years offered it.

I am so bummed that the Onstar ends at the end of the year. I chose not to pay monthly to the end. I really love having this security feature. I actually used it twice when I locked my keys in my trunk at the grocery store. LOL I also liked that it could locate my car if stolen. Living in the bay area, ca I really need this feature. So, I would be totally for some sort of campaign to get them to change their mind. We also have the Chevy Silverado and that expired, too. We can get the upgrade but I'm worried about the cost. Mike B, do you know how much it is to upgrade?
