Question for those with Trans Coolers
I was installing my temp sensor for the transmission gauge today (finally got around to it, and got the parts I needed after almost 2 months!) and when I split the hose from cold line, very little fluid came out. The level from the dipstick was fine though--the question I have is has anyone flushed the transmission via the cooling lines?
I just found it odd that nothing gushed out when I cut the line. Any thoughts?

The line doesn't hold pressure (like fuel line) when engine is shut off thus you won't find any thing when you cut that line (engine off). Yes, I've flushed it when install the B&M cooler. Just disconnect the return line and stick it in a bucket and crank up the engine.....everything will come out. Just shut her down after 20-30 secs to refill your tranny with fresh fluid and flush again.

Blown is Best
My experience is the same as Randomwalks. I flushed at the same time as my install and it worked great. Just pumped it into a 1 gallon jug to keep track of how much I needed to add. I pumped mine out in 2 qt increments.
If you split your hose at a high point in the system, I wouldn't think you would get much fluid.

thanks for the input guys. Yeah, I did cut it at the return line at a high point, and it was bone dry. I used a q-tip to swab to make sure things were flowing and indeed there were some residual traces of tranny fluid. I was worried because when I took off the original 5 inch or so line of hose, it was full of fluid.
Yes I'm running the B&M coller, with a B&M gauge. I had picutres of the Gauge installation around feb time. I think the title of the thread was good use for cup holders or something like that.
Good luck!
