Question on Seat Heaters

I have a 2003 NGP TL-S. Now that it is getting cooler I used the seat heater this morning. Is it normal for the center console to heat up? When I disconnected my seatbelt my hand rubbed up against the side of the console and it was quite warm to the touch. Warmer than the seat actually.

Thanks for the help. Just want to know if it something to be concerned about.

That's probably because the vents for the backseat travel through the center console. If you are running the heater then warm or hot air would be going through them. Same thing in the summer when the AC is on except the console is going to be cold.

I never would have thought that either. Thanks for the response.

Think it gets warm enough to cause problems to CD's in the console box?

No, definitely not.... I've never had a problem inside the box. The outside may warm up or be cool (depending if you're running the A/C or heat), but that's it... the inside is not as affected....

And keeps your coffee or hot chocolate warm in the drink holders in the winter. An unintended, but very welcome, side-effect of rear vent outlets in the center console.
