get the indaglo gauges get a toggle switch to turn them off seperatly of the headlights and once off the needles stay lit. i use this alot at night now. much easier on the eyes!

also i thought there was something you could cut on those indaglo gauges to get rid of the center ring lighting up

after reading your post, I realized that the gauges I bought were different, I'll post pics later, but to make sure, you all have 2piece per meter, so that is a total of 6pieces that you taped. The one I have is a one piece meter replacement that didn't fit, I bought these a long time ago and recently decided to put them on, and fudge things up, so I did the type S gauges instead, anyways.. I would love to get what you guys have, where exactly did you get them though? I got the ones i have off of ebay, and I regret doing that...

The gauges with the digital inverter, is great.. easy on the eyes during night time driving.

I believe the reverse gauges are using analog inverter which is just a knob.

yea i have a controler to adjust the colors, but i also have a (one i made) to turn the indaglo off when ever i want (the turn on automaticly with the headlights) so at night the only thing lit up is the needles

sorry for thr blury pics but you get the idea

yeah i understood that, you just put a toggle switch on the positive wire, when its off, the needles are lit from the stock bulbs. what i was saying, that if I turn my knob to MIN, I get the same effect as you.

fsttyms, where did you order your guages, and how did you hook up the toggle? Just to the power wire for the guages or what?

I was looking at the glow gauges and they say:

2000-2003 ACURA TL (ALL MODELS EXCEPT TYPE-S) 6-COLOR GLOW GAUGES PURE WHITE,SCRATCH RESISTANT FACES DURING THE DAY,GLOWS 6 DIFFERENT COLORS AT NIGHT -6-STAGE DIGITAL COLOR INVERTER BLUE->LIGHT BLUE->BLUEGREEN->GREEN->VIOLET>LIGHTGREEN

Are there any out there for the TL-S?

i had the 6 color gauges like fsttyms on my maxima, just thought of something different, and i must admit i actually like the reverse better, especially if you make it dimmer, unlike the pix i've posted.

and mkevil, no they dont make typeS gauges...the main thing you will miss if you install the non-typeS gauges will be the VSA light gone and the Redline lowered. The rest should be fine.

and both are readily available from procarparts.com and ebay, by the same company, I believe it is AlfaOtto.

peace

the gauges in my car you cant get any more. they were from a group buy from like 2 years ago. you can get similar ones from procarparts. the only difference is that the spedo #'s dont light up

Hey guys I just realized something. Since '99s only has 4 gears/D4 does that mean if I were to install this gauge the D4 would light up as D5 and so on.... also D1 would never light up.
I do plan to do this mod either way but I just want to make sure, thanks.

TL260, 00-03 are the same for all TL-Ps., on the TypeS: VSA light you will not see, and the redline is lower.

subtle, i have no clue, but logically, since 00-03 have that extra gear, there must be an extra box in the gauges, so it should show everything, but im NOT sure.

they will fit just fine. all you have to do is cut out the little strips that seperate the the gears with an exacto.

like this

www.procarparts.com or ebaymotors, procarparts sells there too. for 99, jus cut the lines out which separate the gear light indicators since its only 4 gears instead of 5

u can move the needles around, but do NOT remove them, or bend them too much so they break. I had to remove my RPM needle cuz i had accidentally gotten spray adhesive on it. took a long ass time to try an get back to normal before i figured to jus put the guages back in w/o the plastic cover and jus keep hitting it to rev limiter in park and taking it out and putting back in till i got it at 5000.

jus use the thinnest 3M mounting tape u can find at a hardware store. and be sure to press down for at least a good 30 seconds b4. i jus keep the switch in the fuse box, jus sits there.

so the temp and gas guages were no problem?
