question bout new wheels on my car

i need some new tires for my car i was thinking maybe i just change the wheels also with one of those wheel packages on the net (like the link below):
http://www.wheelsnext.com/product.ph...&inum=&large=1

I was wondering if i have to lower the car from making it look awkward? does ne one have pics of a 99tl with 17 inches but not lowered. i dont know if i should lower it also.

A 99 TL with 17" rims is gonna look almost like a '02-03 TL-S with 17" rims ... You don't have to lower it, but it will look a little awkward with the wheel gap although not much different than it does now with the 16" rims ... don't forget the actual size of the rim + tire shouldn't change too much (depending on the rim and the tire), its just with bigger rims the tire becomes smaller. If it changes too much then your speedometer would be off. You can check http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html to see how much diff your speedometer would be depending on your rim/tire combo versus stock.

Here's a pic of my car before it got dropped to give you an idea ...
