Question about the tint job

hey guys,

I just got my tints installed, and I have a question in regards to the back windshield. Firstly, I notice that in the area at the top of the window (the part where all the dots are), it appears like the film didn't adhere in all the places, and so I'm left with what looks like water under the tint...it appears as if it didn't stick on properly, however I have no bubbles, or peeling...did this happen to yours also??

and I'm wondering in regards to the back windshield again, around the outside border of the window, there are also small dots. However it looks as if those dots are virtually unreachable from the inside of the car, so I'm left with a thin line of dots around the outside border of the windshield which is not tinted...did this happen to yours also? Now I have only had the tint on the windows for a day, so will this correct itself in the next few days after the glue dries up a little bit more?

BTW I got the Llumar Radiant tint...he said it's one of the highest quality...so I paid a little extra for it. Cost me in all 200 with tax and install for the Llumar.

I got Madico Metallic film and my back window is the same. A lot of the stuff will dry, but the dot matrix won't be perfect. It doesn't bother me too much.

The area around the rear window with the black dots is a perminent part of the window. Because its raised and rough the tint cant stick flat to it. There is nothing the tint shop can do. This will happen with any tint job.
If you just got the tint done I'm sure the tint shop wants the car back in a few days, ask them about it.

Why would the tint shop want it back?
As for the back, it's pretty normal, I don't think there is anything you can do to get it perfect. After a while, you won't even notice it, how many people really look at your rear windows that closely anyways? Do you have a spoiler? If so, did they take the rear deck speaker out and cover the third brake light?
I made sure they covered it since that light doesn't work anyways since I have a spoiler with the light on that.

I'll be honest with you, I doubt they removed my sub cover to cover the third brake light, however I do have a spoiler, and so that third brake light is inactive. Somehow though they managed to tint over the brake light. Whether it be they have a tool to go that far down, or they removed it...I have no clue.

I'm pretty happy with the job they did. I took it back this morning to fix a small bubble on the passenger window. He used a tool to simply go over the bubble, and it blew the air out, and fixed the tint. Now it seems like it's permanently fixed...

I'm pretty happy with the job, can't wait to roll down my windows on friday though!!!

later guys.

The major tint chain we have in Toronto (Tint King) has done all my tint jobs (4 cars) and asked that I bring each car back after a 4-5 days for a check ...remove any bubbles.. release the brushs on the doors and so on. I though most shops did this! Guess not.

ya they also told me that, I dealt with the tint king on steeles. However I will not be available in 4-5 days from yesterday...

I will probably bring them the car on monday morning, to have them check it out. As of now, the tints look really good, I'm just making sure no one touches them, or rolls down the windows...

the glue seemed to have adhered a bit more since my initial post, so they are starting to look really hot.

i didn't get the dots tinted...i stopped the tint right before that. I hate the way tint looks over the dots...it looks cheap.

I've noticed now that it can be seen less and less as the tint begins to dry. I would have done that had I known...

anyways it's not like I need that area of the window to see out of it, it's more blurry though than it used to be...no big deal.

if you didn't specify it too the place, then chances are you tints over the dots...if the top part where the dots are look blurry, then it's tinted...

there is something that could have been done for the dot matrix if you planned it before they tinted it.

My tint shop stops right at the dot matrix and then uses black vynal sticker on the inside over the dot matrix. It came out perfect with the 5 percent tint(dark) and the quality of the gifted installer.
