Question Question about swithing to Synthetic

Say you have a TL with 38K and have been running conventional oil up until now. Is it still safe to totally go synthetic? With cars made years ago, this was not advisable because the seals could leak like a siv; does this still hold true?

Absolutely. You shouldn't have a problem. Many have done it.

You can switch back and forth anytime you want. I was told that if you do go with synthetic, then you can double the length of time/miles that you go between oil changes as oppossed to conventional oil.

synthetics dont cause leaks...it only shows that you already had one. because synthetics are more refined than conventional petroleum oils, it is more inclined to leak from the already-broken seal.
