putting this car on jackstands

this is a n00b ?.
i want to put both sides of the front on jackstands.
but if i use the jackpoint to lift the car, where do i put the jack stand?.

is there a place i can put the hydralic jack so i can place the jack stands on the proper spot.

there's a frame rail just onthe inside of the jackpoint..but it seems too soft..

dead center in the front of the car just behind the radiator is a lift point (as long as you have a good jack that has a lift pad thats bigger than 2 inches) It drops down lower than the rest of the sub frame so you can see it

Oh and you can also use the 2 front tow hooks to lift the car up

Usually what I do is lift the front center and then slap the jack stands on.

What is the center rear jack point? The rear tow hook can lift the back?

you can put the jack in front of the car and lift it up, then use the points on each side aand put the jackstands under them

Yes - that is the rear jack point. I've used it myself.

I actually don't like either jack point. I'm always scared something will break! ...too many creaks and groans!

That's why it's good to have lifts!

I understand your situation. I came close to wearing out one of my prior cars' jacks and had to get a hydraulic jack. Those OEM jacks aren't really meant for maintenance. They're meant for emergencies.

If you are going to do any kind of regular work you gotta get a hyd-jack! They are cheap ($80 sears) and work great. Just jack her up and you can even mover her a bit with the jack, since it's on wheels.

When I jack the car up I use the mentioned center point and then put a jack under each one of the large aluminum supports/arms whatever they are called that are welded together ... they branch out from that center jcak point and on to the frame. I will take pics in a week when I have to jack her up for my iolchange/tire rotation/brake pad change. It is solid and no worries of bending those tiny jack tabs.

Also a pointer. If you plan on jacking up the car on any part of the solid support frame underneath (I know my terminology sucks) becareful not to damage the undercoating ... it'll come right off. Use a think piece of rubber or something between the jack and frame.

Just be careful to have solid supports and prevent the car from rolling - never trust a jack. My neighbor owned a garage ... he found his partner crushed underneath a car one morning. His partner worked late and the car fell on him eventually killing him ... terrible way to go.

the only good and safe places to jack the car up from are the factory lift points, teh 2 front tow hooks, the center lift point in the front and any where on teh lower subframe (the gloss black frame that goes around the engine) the rest of the unibody isnt designed to support the car

I use ramps when I go under the car. If I'm using a jack then I'm probably taking wheels off....so I stick the wheels right behind the lift points by the doors. If the car falls, it'll hit the rim and (hopefully) give me enough room to not get crushed and rejack it up.

That is why you should get jack stands, so that it doesnt fall off!
