Put in springs, back didn't drop much.

Hopefully the cycle is complete. I bought sways a few months ago which led me to new tires which meant new rims, which left a gap which meant springs. I went back and forth between comptech and HR OE's. Since nobody had OE's I went with comptech. Everybody had conflicting information about the drop amounts so I took careful measurements. The front dropped 1.5" but the back only dropped .5". Do the springs really settle later or did I do something wrong on the install. The ride is fine and everything sounds okay. Can anybody give me their measurements for their drop on comptech. I measured from the center of the wheel to the lip of the fender. I get 14.25" in front and 14.5" in the rear.

Thanks

p.s. Don't even try do springs without and air compressor, or a two weeks prep time doing wrist curls in the gym.

Check your PM, kaih. The springs will settle over the next few weeks. I had mine installed professionally, though, and noticed a drop right away, having measured the wheel gap before and after. I ended up with a 1.75 " drop in front and 1.5 " drop in back.

I have comptechs and it doesn't really drop it much in the rear, it kind of a raked look........it will settle slightly over the next week or so, but not too much more. I think that's just the drop comptech gives.

Badazz, you can rent an ELECTRIC impact wrench from the hardware store pretty cheaply, which will get the job done without the need for a pnuematic impact wrench.

I think the reason for not having such a big drop is because it's the rear. That's where you put 3 people; sometimes 2 that's around 250lbs each with a bunch of luggages in the trunk. Just a thought.

I'd rather have a raked looked for that very same reason. It's better to look raked most of the time than to look like your car is squatting some of the times.

I agree with Ed. When I take my in-laws out, the car evens out nicely rather than sqatting in the rear. It's definitely a nice touch.

your choices should have been the comptech or the h&r sport springs not the h&r oem which are a waste of time and money. unless you didnt want a drop that was noticeable then the h&r oe would have been the choice. sounds like thats not what you wanted however, so it should have not be an option. the comptech will grow on you. you could always weight down the truck with a couple inlaws. yes i said truck not rear seat. the smell will be overwhelming after a while however.

While we're on the topic of aftermarket springs, how do you guys feel about Neuspeed Race Springs? Anybody have them installed in their TL?

I don't recommend neuspeed. I heard some bad things about it, namely the front does not drop as low as the rear. Also the ride is bouncy and some have seen more sagging over time. Eibach suffers from same sagging problem too, or so I heard.

I've heard several times that the Neuspeed springs are made by H&R or eibach......I can't remember which. It takes a huge machine to make springs, it's also expensive. There are a few companies that make springs and different companies but their logo on them. I'm sure I'm gonna get flamed for this, but it's the truth.
