I was just thinking about the new G35 and it's pop up nav. I was wondering if anyone thought about doing this some how to their TL's. Just a reoccuring daydream I have for my non-nav TL-S. Anyone actually taken out the whole dash to see if there was room to fit an LCD.

P.S. what about making a custom flush mount flip up monitor. Meaning flush horizontal on top of dash and flips vertical.

Trying to be different. Any engineers out there!!!

Yes, i'm not the only one! HEHE Well, i usually come up with alot of creative ideas, but i never follow through on them. Yes, i have though about this. I wanted the motorized screen of the IN-DASH monitors, i was thinking about removing that little Coin/Card holder about the Head Unit and stick in a motorized LCD screen, had everything laid out, how the motor was gonna work, what was gonna control it, but there was one thing, it wouldn't be practical, it would be cheaper just to buy it

You meant like the way Tim and I have our screen set-up? Tim has a Pioneer. I sport a Panasonic.

Regarding the dash area, even if your TL doesn't come with Navi, all the brackets for the LCD are there, behind the climate control. Some guy with a CL put an aftermaket Navi there and moved the climate control down the radio area, radio was also replace with a DIN aftermarket radio.
