Problems choosing a color!!!!!!
Whats up guys, i'm getting a TLS in a month or two and i'm having serious problems choosing a color. I want the ABP but im worried that the car will look like crap in a couple of months. I also like the SSM but my current Galant GTZ is silver, so I dont know if I want two silver cars in a row. I also wash my car at least once a week and wax at least once a month, so maintaining is not a problem. So can any one with a ABP let me know how bad the swirl marks are I would aprreciate it. Thanks.

My ABP is 10 months old, went through a New England winter and looks fine. Check out Mr. Hyde's ride. His is about as old as mine and he Zaino's the crap out of it I believe.

I like the ABP better than the SSM, but have you considered the Anthracite Metallic color at all?...that's what I have and I get alot of compliments on it, not to many TLs out there this color...here's a pic of my car(Anthracite Metallic):

I have considered the anthracite metallic its just I havent seen any at the dealer or on the road(I guess youre not kidding about there arent many TL's with that color....lol) but now that ive seen your car I have to get a closer look in person. Thanks for the pics.....If any of you could post pics of the ABP, SSM, or the anthracite metallic that would be nice......

It actually came down to the ABP and SSM in terms of color choice for me too. The silver has a lot advantages, but the ABP was too great a color to pass up. Like any dark color, you will eventually see swirl marks with the ABP. I guess it just comes down to if you're willing to live with the swirl marks and scratches for having a car in awesome color. FYI, my car has no visible swirl marks yet after this mild winter. I say go for the ABP. The TL-S looks unbelievable in this color.

Just got my car washed this weekend and damn it looks crisp and clean. It's such a great color and I get alot of compliments on it. Not that it means much but I was stopped at light this weekend and this older guy pulls up in his NBP TLs, I look over, and gives me a thumbs up.
You will see swirls on it and any fine scratches, but hey that's the price you pay.

With dark colors just use a new clean wash mitt all you can and an old one for the wheels - do them last as you don't need brake dust (metal) in the water doing your paint. Wash car from the top down and blast off the grit behind each tire with your hose before you do anything. Just my thoughts.

I've got the SSM...and I like it alot. However if I could do it all over again...I might would choose the ABP or the WDP. I think those are the colors that get the most attention and look the flashiest.
But I'm still lovin' my silver....it's understated and I like that. I just love that blue though...and I've always loved a clean white car!!!

My favorite colors:
NBP (I'm biased!)
Anthracite
Silver
Hot damn, I can't believe I never realized this. Since I've ever owned a car, I've more than once used the same sponge on the wheels one day and later in the week back again on the car! Ouch!@ Metal too, I thought it was just dirt!
For the most part though, I use a sponge solely for my car, and another solely for my tires/wheels. But I have lapsed!
