Problems with C.D. changer?
Has anyone else had to have their 6 disc changer replaced? My second one just crapped out on me. I've had my car 14 mos (02 TLS). Both times the C.d. player quit playing and started displaying the error code. My stereo is completely stock, and before you guys start accusing me of being a ham fisted idot I own other c.d. changers and know how to use one. The funny thing is when I called the dealership the guy asked me if I had been using burnt C.d.s. Are our changers not capable of playing these? I havent ever heard that or seen it in the manual. I have heard of the labels on burnt c.d.s causing them not to eject right. But without the labels effecting the size of the c.d. is their any other reason why we shouldnt play them. Or is the dealership just looking for an excuse.

I just had mine replaced last week. There is some talk going on about CD-R's being slightly thicker than regular music CD's. I've compared them, and to my eyes they are exactly the same thickness.
I definitely agree about not applying labels to the CD's. I just write on them with a marker.

The CD changer mechanism is crap. I've had it jam on regular commercial CD's, as well as CD-R's. I'm going to have them swap the present unit to get me by, then get a cartridge type changer for the trunk. I'm sick of dealing with it.

I'm on my second unit too. This one ain't exactly peachy either. I'm always having problems inserting CDs. It's like I have to get the CD in at an exact angle. If not, it just doesn't go in. So annoying. Especially when a girl is in my car, it's actually alittle embarrassing that they can't never seem to insert the CD and I have to struggle a few times before I can even put it in. To think it's a Bose system too. Piece of $hit.

I agree the thing is a finicky P.O.S, I've pretty much given up on letting anyone else load a C.D.. I'm always like "wait for it to say load, no not like that, raise it to this angle like this" I thought BOSE made great systems, but the one in the TLS is far from great.

I'm really sorry to hear bout all your problems, that really does suck... so far no probs with mine (knock on wood). I just have to delicately feed the CDs, but nothing I can't handle even while driving, hope you guys get better units...
