problem with A/C::Heater ('01 navi)

ill turn the heat up at 90 and auto it and use it like normal. then i push the off button and itll turn the fan off but i still feel heat coming out. then say i turn off car and come back later. the heater is stilling going but it doesnt show that it is on or anything, ill push "off" again jsut to make sure but no use. ill go into my navi and push "off" on the touch screen but it still doesnt work.

basically, i cant get heat to turn off. i put heat level at 60 when im done using it but thats just to get heater off, then i feel the cool air.

anyone know? damn acura.

It's supposed to work that way. Unless your RECIRC button is on RECIRC, there will always be air flow into your cabin. When you push off, you are just turning off the fan and wherever the heat mixture setting is at, that's where it stays.

So in short, you want no air coming in, make sure recirc is on when you turn system off.

Doesn't setting the temp at 90 fully open up the heater block? Probably heat just making it's way in.

OMG ... Ya know, they honestly do hide this information ... cleverly concealed in a book called the owner's manual.

Its normal theres always air coming from the vents in my car also. I also noticed if you have the sunroof open it comes out faster because of more circulation.

Thats because there is a seperate book just for the Nav and another for the stereo.
Let me know any specific questions -have my book right here

Those with the owners manual are happy to help those without, and there is a thread with link to download a copy of the owners manual. Amazing tips in there, like dont run the seat heaters on high at idle for long periods of time as they pull more juice than being generated- so you are draining the battery, not to mention we have seen pics of the repair needed when seat heat fails- good to know my butt is sitting on a thin wire!
No wonder I carry 2 fire extinguishers and 2 first aid kits.
One of each in the trunk and another set inside the car in case the trunk is jammed or you are trapped inside the car.
Plan ahead and you wont have any problems
Leave the house with 1/4 tank into a snowstorm....
