Pricing and Trade in Q
I'm looking to purchase a new '03 TLS w/Navi here in Oregon. I've shopped around a bit and the best deal I've been presented so far is 31K for a WDP '03 TLS w/Navi (ebony interior), with protection package (wheel locks, mud flaps, trunk liner) and they're going to give me 12,800 trade in for my '99 TL with 81K miles (minor rock chips, door ding and dented bumper).
Does that seem like a good deal? Thanks!

$31K is an excellent deal for a TLS/Navi..
BUT, 12,800 is a damn crime for the trade in value for your TL..
minor dings, and the bumper can be fixed for less than $1000..
but probably the bumper is the onlything your should really worry about..
and you could get alot more than 12,800 for your TL if you sold it privately or maybe even another dealer..

Head over to www.edmunds.com and www.kbb.com and plug in your car's stats to get a fair market trade in value. Expect the dealer to start by offering you around $1,000-2,000 less than what you get at these sites, and then work it up.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I'm definately excited about the 31K price--I was really disappointed by the 12.8K for my used.
Interestingly enough KBB shows a trade in value of 12.2K and Edmunds shows a trade-in value of 17.1K!
Anyone have any idea why the huge descrepancy?
