I got my 2002 TL-S No Nav, for about $500 over invoice
at Vandergriff Acura in Arlington. Salesman I used was
Bill Cook. He seemed very on the level and didn't play
the games. Let him know that Erik & Betty sent you,
and you will get a good deal. Go in with an out the
door price.

Here is what I did

Invoice + Delivery + Sales Tax (6.25?) + VIT Tax (Forgot
the rate, but it came to be $68 on my car, I think it
is 0.14 %) License Fee $69.80, Inspection & Title
$34.75, Documentation Fee (if you want to let them have
it, $50.00) Add all that up...

Now add the following prices to invoice

$500 for a 2002
$1100 for a 2003

Someone will bite..

The TL-S with Nav go for a higher premium, so you
will have to negotiate higher probably.

Best is call each dealer up, or fax them with your
Out The Door Price, and see who matches it or
will beat it.

In the Dallas area you have David McDavid, Goodsen,
Vandergriff, and Churchhill (FtWorth)

I found Goodsen to be very high pressure, I think
it is best to work from the phone, so that these
full time salesmen can't keep you locked up, while
they go take a smoke out back.

PM if you want more details about buying in Dallas

I can also tell you how to use peoplefirst.com checks
at Vandergriff.

I'd go with Vandergriff, too. They came in as the lowest bid on a '02 TLS back in Dec - $200 over invoice. Everyone else I checked with in your area wouldn't come close. FYI, I ended up buying locally because of the extra expense to go up to, and drive back from, Dallas.

My experience was the best with vandergriff also.. like wakattack said, goodson was high pressure, and didnt want to give me a quote up front. mcdavid was ok, but still high priced
and at that time, i didnt look into fort worth, so i didnt know about macchurchill.

i ended with 2-3% over invoice at vandergriff, keep in mind this was mid-august, before the heavy discounts of the post-september situation.

they did not accept my peoplefirst.com check, but their own offer was only .05% higher, and in my loan, was only $12 more in interest, so i didnt care

wakattack, do you mind telling me how to get them to accept peoplefirst.com checks? i'd like to know, in case of future purchases. send me a PM?

Well, I'll just have to deal with them over there.. I've emailed them and I'll see how quickly they respond...

Peoplefirst.com a lender.. anything else? I've already been approved thru my creidt union for a 4.9% for 60 months.. yea!!!! Now to sell my car!

Bob Kakowski is a great guy in Plano at David McDavid. My sister and I both bought cars from him. Tell him that Mason Kessner sent you and you are very serious about buying!

I tried David McDavid, made appointment w/fleet guy - he stood me up and arranged for some second string guy. They wanted nothing to do w/my trade so I said no thanks went to Irving (Goodson) drove away the same day with the car I wanted.
