Premium Gas?

Premium Gas?
So let me start off by saying I am a new proud owner of a 2003 TL and secondly...I know little too nothing about cars so I joined this forum in hopes that I can gain a ton of knowledge from all of you!!
My question is that in the manual it says to only use Premium gas in the Acura. What are your thoughts on that? So far that is all I have put in there but different people have their opinions as to if it really makes a difference.
Thoughts? What do you all put in your cars?

First of all, welcome and congrats on your car. Any pics?
Secondly, yes do put premium for the car. The engine will run cleaner, smoother and your mileage will be good.
Thirdly, I do put premium regardless of the price because putting in a little more now might save you alot in the future ( Repair wise if any )
If you need any more detail information, use the search bar and you will see alot of threads on this. Enjoy the new whip, any other questions feel free to ask. Be eazy

welcome to the forum, and don't worry about knowing nothing. we all have to start somewhere.
bottom line: your car will not perform the same on regular gas. you will be able to drive it but what's the point of buying a luxury car if you're not going to spend the extra 30 cents a gallon for gas? premium is still $3 a gallon here in ny where i am and i fill up two or three times a week from commuting to work and i still refuse to put regular in. i want to know that when i hit the gas my car will accelerate properly and perform to the standards that made me buy it in the first place.
do yourself a favor and at least use 91 if you're that crunched for gas money. don't go with 89.

Thanks for the input!! I live in CO and we have 85, 87, 91 here. I think 91 is at about $2.69 right now so it is not that bad. Looks like I will stick with the premium gas then. Hopefully that benefits me in the long run.
I put a few pictures of the car up in the member directory thread
