Power Steering Pump..... exploded.
 

Ok so after work I went out to my car, and saw a bunch of liquid under the front. So I popped the hood and saw pieces of metal and some type of seal scattered all over the engine. I couldnt figure out what the hell it was. I was looking all over the engine bay and couldnt figure it out. It looked like the liquid was coming from the power steering resevoir.
So I had my buddy start the car and that's when I saw the pulley wobbling all over the place. I looked closer behind the pulley and saw that there were only a couple of balls left in the bearing. I told him to shut it off, asked for a knife and cut the damn belt and drove home. I still have no idea where the fluid came from. I think its power steering fluid........ actually I know it is.
So that's my story............ and here's my question.
Anybody know where I can get another power steering pump........ cheap?

Yeah dude, I used to have an integra that I took the power steering off of, and it wasn't nearly as hard as this. I didn't think it would be so tough. I think the guy that invented power steering should get a medal or something. :thumbsup:


oh and what would cause something like that. I have never heard of a PS pump exploding........ or atleast the bearing exploding........... any ideas?

Ok so I checked that site, and thank you I never thought I could get it for under 300. Only one question though. It doesnt give a pump for a 99 tl only 2000-2003 it should be the same right? I just wanna make sure so I dont get the wrong thing and waste 35 bucks.

Im assuming they are all the same.
