Power Steering Combination Return pipe
My 1999 TL power steering combination return pipe rusted out and needs to be replaced. I bought the pipe. It is #27 in the link diagram.

I have disconnected the pipe and it is loose. Now the trick is to remove the pipe and install the pre-bent return pipe but Acura seems to have built the car around this pipe. Has anyone replaced this? What has to be removed first before removing the combo return? Does the pipe go in (come out) from the top or from underneath? If from the top does removal of the right motor mount give enough room to snake it in?
Thanks for your help.

Welcome to AZine.
Removal shouldn't be a problem since you're replacing it (you can just beat it up).
Installation might be a little tricky. I imagine it would be easier from the bottom, but I recall it bending heavily toward the rear of the engine.
I would try to snake the front of the pipe in from behind the engine. That way the heavy bends should just wiggle straight up. Kind of difficult to explain, but it should be possible without removing too much stuff.

I know this was a couple years ago, but I have the same exact problem. I've pulled the old one out by bending the crap out of it. Now I have no idea how to get the new one in. How did you ever manage to do it?
Thanks.
