Power steering

I took my 99 TL to a shop I have used before to have my tension pulley replaced and EGR valve duct cleaned out. When I went to pick up the car, the owner told me that I need to replace my Power steering pump because the bearing made a ringing sound and the power steering fluid was surging. He said it would not last much longer. When it was colder the power steering pump made a noise but went off after it warmed up. I noticed that they had changed the low pressure hose and the power steering fluid. Now the power steering pump makes the noise and would not stop. When I drop off is did not make any noise. I am under the impression he messed with it so the sound would annoy me so I can come in and have it replaced. Any suggestions? Should I just replace it? The sound is annoying.

My guess is that they overtightened the belt and ruined your pump.

It's also getting to be pretty common for the ps pump inlet o ring to start leaking if the pump's been nudged. It's definitely the cheapest and easiest place to start. It will suck air, with no fluid leak, so it's easy to overlook.

01tl4tl : The shop specialized in Honda repair, so i think it's Honda PS fluid used.
Trash : After reading another thread i had one of my friend who work close to the Acura dealer pick up 2 rings for me. Will give an update after i change it later today.
