Powder Coated brake calipers

Hey all, here's some pics of my latest effort. Basically I had painted the calipers last year with some high temp paint but they looked like crap after the harsh winter and instead of painting them again I figured I'd go a step further and have them powder coated.

So I took all 4 off along with the brackets and had them done. Had to basically rebuild the calipers with new seals which I bought from the dealer since the powder coat process would have melted the rubber. Then I ordered some caliper labels for the fronts. Finally I reinstalled and bled the system, had to do that twice to get the pedal feel back to normal.

Here's the results, ignore the rusted rotora rotor on the front since the car was sitting out in the rain for a week while the parts were out at the powder coater. I installed new rotors on the rear as I only bought them for the fronts last year.

get those decals off Ebay? I thought they had a chance to look cool on some nice calipers when I saw them. Very nice I think.

For anyone interested, I got the labels from www.xenonmods.com. Yeah not sure how long they will last but for the cost and the fact that I have extras to put on there in case these wear out is well worth my $10 investment on them.

cleanest calipers I've seen in a LONG time. Is it me or does your paint look pearly? Nice touch on a nice car, I'm sure .

dont like the color. the stock calipers are ugly and the blue makes them stand out too much (too noticeable).

either way, it came out well, just not my taste.

Thanks for the props guys. I know the color may not appeal to everyone but I chose blue only because blue and silver (car is silver) are my fav colors so I thought combined it would nice. The color is a candy blue so yeah it does have a pearly type look to it. To be honest I wasn't sure what to expect when I gave them to the powder coater but he assured me they would come out good.

I paid 140 for the fronts and 120 for the rears plus the cost of new seal kit for each caliper which ran me about 60 total from the dealer. Then everything else was just my labor. I could've gotten the silkscreening done on the calipers but it was a lot more and the font would not have been the standard one Acura uses.

Minor detail and one that people may consider too much of a cost on but I felt it was well worth the investment and time to do.
