Please help: 1999 Acura TL Used - Is it worth to buy?
Hi All,
I am planning to buy Acura TL 1999 for 14.5K.
(57K miles no Navigator)
Just now I found out about Transmission problems
in 1999-2003 models.
This particular car had its transmission changed
a week back (brand new) by the dealer.
Please give your suggestion/opinions asap.
Since I have to make this decision by 4PM PST.
Thanks in Advance
K

I'm a little late but, 99 TL are less prone to Trans problem. The problem in 1999 TL is due to weak ballbearings, the trans problems in 2000-2003 TL is the 3rd clutch pack. I have a 99 TL with 56k miles (bought it new with 6 miles on it), still on the orig trans. If it had the trans replaced then it should be less of a worry. I say go for it. It's a great car.

the tranny was shifting kinda..lame.
bought it anyway, knowing about the tranny issue.
dealer replaced it at 60k.
no questions asked.
