plastic crazing

Does anyone have a problem with the clear plastic crazing on their tach and speedo. My 2001 had this problem and I thought it was me causing the scratches by wiping the dust off with a rag and scratching the lens. Well when I purchased my 2002 TLS, I was carefull not to touch the plastic with anything that would scratch. It's still got scratches that look terrible when the sun shines on it. Kind of looks like dark paint with swirl marks.

Other than that I've got 10,000 miles and no problems,no squeaks or rattles and the car is just great. Tranny is fine and I just love this car. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

Stop knocking on the dark paint jobs and their tendencies to show swirlmarks, please. It is a nasty little subject.

Go to like a paintball shop or a gun shop. I get mine at a gun shop because I got the hook up. Plexus spray works great. I even heard that the Air Force uses it for their Planes. I used to use it for my paintball lens and took all the scrtaches out instantly. Not expensive at all.

Sorry guys but I don't think I explained the problem thoroughly. The first TL I had I was not sure if I caused the problem so when I got the TLS, I made sure I didn't cause any marks on the instrument lens. This I am sure of. Well there are the same crazing in the plastic that I had with my first TL. This appears to come from the factory this way. It's only visible in bright light but it's there. I was just curious if anyone else noticed it in their car.
