I just had the Avic-N1 put in my 01 TL and there is definitely a dash kit for it. I also went to Tweeter when I was looking around for the kit and even though they told me that they don't make a kit for the year TL I have they do make one. Scosche makes it and you can get it a couple of places online (Crutchfield and Cardomain.com, Crutchfield has it for $20 but you can get it for like $12 at cardomain)

since i needed teh stock sub (i need all teh trunk space i have so a sub box is out of the question) i just ran the rca's from the sub out on the hu to a small 300 watt amp i had laying around. then hooked up that to the factory sub.

the custom wiring i was talking about would be to (if you were to use the factory sub and factory amp) take teh rca's from the sub out and tie them into the input leads on the Factory sub amp (located behind the rear seat).

unfortunatly i dont have any schematics of it this way since i didnt do it this way, but some have. but it is possible

im not sure where it connects but when i put it in my dads benz, i didnt connect it cus i knew he woul never use that feature and the feature that shows your speed on the screen still worked. i know there is a mod on the board with a corvette and he did the same thing and the speedometer and gps still worked.

Hey guys I am new to the forum and to my 02 tl-s. I want to do the navi conversion but I am concerned about losing the functionality of the navi system and a/c controls.

I have scoured the forums for information about keeping these systems and adding the dvd/tv tuner but I cannot find anything, so please dont flame me about using the search feature.

One post from about a year ago said that you just have to memorize where the controls were and live with it. Is it possible to tie the stock systems and speakers in with a dvd player/tuner/aux port for ps2 and not lose any functionality? Any help you guys could lend me would be appreciated.

Also, does anyone have a faq/walkthrough for the process and what components are recommended? I am pretty good with electronics and would like to do the conversion myself. Thanks guys.
