Philips Ultinon D2R 6000K

I'm thinking about replacing my stock headlight bulbs with the Philips Ultinon D2R 6000K ones... I've seen a lot of members have taken on this project. I was wondering, it is simple to replace the bulbs myself at home? And, are any modifications required for this project??? Do I need to buy any additional hardware? I would like it to be just plain and simple... Like take out the other bulb and just insert this one in... Is the installation anything like that? I checked the prices on illusion-lighting and their price is - 270/pair. Is that a resonable price? What did you guys pay?

Thankz in advance!

It is easy as swapping bulbs. It may be a little hard to get to but not that bad. 15 mins total. I got mine for like $230/$240 shipped from Taiwan.

So let me get this all figured out... All I need to do is change the bulbs and I'm done?

To make sure... Here's what I'm going to do,
1. Remove headlight assembly
2. Using gloves (so i don't leave fingerprints) remove STOCK bulb
3. Clean the headlight housing lint-free towel & windex
4. Pop in the Philips Ultinon D2R 6000K bulb
5. Reassemble the headlight
6. Detail car for the winter!

One last question... If the swap is like stated above... "Since I'm changing my stock 4300K bulbs with Philips Ultinon D2R 6000K bulbs, will it harm my electrical system at all? I'm afraid that I'm going to like put the electrical wiring through more than it's capable of."

Thanks for your reply Bxscig and all those who view'd this post!

The difference between the stock 4300k bulbs and the Philips D2Rs are that the D2Rs are a purpleish tint like you see on AUDI's, Porsches, BMWs, and other German cars. The lights to me seem brighter yet, at night you MIGHT have less visibility far away since the color of the light is purple instead of a white!
