Alright after following phee's diy here's how my cluster turned out. Just need to figure out how to make the odo display brighter as it's very dim with the leds behind it.

Ok my odo display is good now. I originally didnt use a mount as described in the diy for the odo display. I used the original sockets and fitted an led into each one. At first i got the positive and negatives wrong when i put it back on the circuit board. Switched them around and now everything looks good . I dont know why 9932's wouldnt work, my guess would be that the leds weren't working or that they werent guided in far enough into the odo display and arent aimed straight . Cant think of any other reason why they wouldnt work for him.
I got a quick question phee, or for anyone that would know, how would you tap into the dimmer switch for power?? I tried tapping into the harness that goes into the dimmer switch and it kind of worked, but the cluster was very dim at the brightest dim setting.

Balls! Ok so when i flip the head lights on, the odo display goes very dim again. Its bright when the lights are switched off though. I uh guess i didnt figure it out yet. What does 9932 have his cluster wired up to? And for all you guys with led clusters what do you have your stuff wired up to? I'm trying to avoid using a separate switch.

I want this mod bad!!! I'm scared of messing with the cluster. Its too F-ing cold in NY to do anything right now to my car anyway. Maybe in the spring I'll take the chance and do this. Unless...lol..Phee is looking for side work??

Just bought another set of gauges so I can do this and still have the car working while I'm messing with it. I want a more blue look overall, but I'll have time to decide when I'm wiring.
Nail polish remover takes all the paint off of any gauges or the shifter plate too. Paint thinner might take off everything, not just the area you want gone.
Phee, you've inspired me to take on this mod. I've thought that our gauges were dull and dim since I bought my 2000 TL P. If I get them half as nice as you set them up, I'll be happy. Thanks for the DIY.

I would guess that it would brighter but more concentrated in the areas where the factory bulb locations are. The light would not be "diffused" throughout the rest of the guage. Just my guess though.
It wouldnt be hella bright, it would be very similar to many new cars instead of the dull old looking stuff.
