Passenger seat headrest rattle

My passenger seat headrest rattles like mad at low speeds, unless someone is actually in the seat. I know that this is a defect that I will bring in for warranty repair, but do you believe it is dangerous, considering the entire upper half of the seat shakes when no one is sitting in it? Could the seat somehow dismount with enough weight or pressue?

Oh no ****..mine rattles like crazy too. I had to move it up one notch to make the rattling off a little. Let me know how they fix yours.

You know, mine just started the same thing last week. It did not do it until I conditioned the leather. I just moved it up one notch so it does not touch the seat. I am going to apply more leather conditioner, maybe it will go away.

Alexxx we are both at the mercy of our f###ing DOT's. You and I have crappy roads and we have to live with it all the time. Voice your opinion and complain to everyone about how the trucks are ruining our highways not to mention the damage they do to paint and windshields. Trucks have to go. SHIP BY RAIL IS THE WORD

DOWN WITH TRUCKS

I don't want any flames about getting my stuff delivered by trucks. I would rather wait a week or two more and have decent roads to drive on. Truckers are morons. PERIOD

I'm going to bring it in at 15,000 miles for the standard service work, and then complain about the headrest and rotor warping. I'll repost the results then, which should be about a month from now.

I had the same thing about 5 months ago. Took it in to the dealership.

Know what it was? It was the headrest zipper (the little dangly that you pull to zip, to be exact) of the leather that was tucked in near the cushion material. The mech and I sat in the car and lightly banged the seat (simulating road conditions) and tracked it ot the inside of the headrest. 5 miniutes later, no rattle. Hasn't been back since.

You can't do anything about the trucks. Just go to the dealer and have them tighten every screw or whatever they use to hold things together. It doesn't bother me because usually when I drive I listen to music so I can't hear if its making a noise. But when I get to the dealer I'll make sure that I'm going to show them the problems.
