Parts for Honda Saber

Hi everyone,

I have a 1998 Japanese Honda Saber which I crashed 3 weeks after getting it.

So I'm now trying to find parts for it. From my research it seems that a 1998 Honda Saber is the same or similar to a 1999 Acura 3.2 TL. Does anyone know if the parts are interchangeable in any way?

I am mainly looking for the following: bumper cover and support bar, radiator, radiator lower support beam, condensor, both head light, front spoiler, both fog lights , 2 rims and the retract mechanism for the right had side view mirror. I live in the Bahamas and I'd like to use US parts unless I can find somewhere to find cost effective Japanese parts. Any help at all is much appreciated.

As a second concern has anyone tried to convert the speedometer, odometer and outside temp guage to MPH and Farenheight? Everything here is in MPH and Faranheight but the car is in KPH and Celcius.

Thanks in advance
Gabriele

Interesting. It appears that the 98 Inspire is the same as the 2nd gen (99-01) TL. I would have figured the 98 Inspire would be the same as the 98 TL (1st gen body style).\

Here's a pic.

Bumper cover and fog lights are gonna be tough. The 99-01 Acura TL did not have fog lights. Only the Inspire did. The only way I'd see getting them is from Japan.

Rims appear to be the same as the 02 TLP wheels (5-spoke 16")
The mirror retractor unit is a Japan only feature. Not available in the US.

Hope that helps.

Best bet is to check with our Canadian brothers, the parts you need we don't carry.

Don't they have more JDM parts than we do, like the A-Spec that we don't have down here.

The A-Spec moniker was first started in Canada. It has nothing to do with Japan and definitely nothing to do with the 99-01 TL.

if you need the foglights goto ebay and do a search on "Inspire JDM Fog Lights" and you'll find a set for sale

Parts for Honda Saber

Thank you everyone for you replies. I feel pretty confident that the radiator, condesor and rims from a TL will work but yes I am not sure about the bumper and fog lights. I am curious if I could still use the bumper and fog lights from a 1999 TL. My concern is that they would fit onto my 1998 Saber without any mods and without changing my fender and hood, otherwise it seems like I'd need to do an 02-03 conversion. SInce I like the 1999 look and my hood, grill and fenders are in good condition I don't really want to go that way.

SO I guess my main issue is willl a 1999 TL radiator, condensor headlights and bumper cover fit my 1998 Saber. I've even considered shipping my bumper to a vendor in the states to see if they could match it, or is it possible to repair them. I'll try to post pics later of the car and the bumper

Your best bet is probably to contact a US dealer and have it shipped in. It'll probably be more expensive than buying it from ebay or through a private seller, but going through the dealer is better since you're not in the US.

If you could, take off the bumper and take some pictures of the radiator, condensor, and the mounts for the bumper. Plenty of us have taken off the bumpers so we can probably tell if the mounts are the same.

The 99-01 TL never came with fog lights so you wont find any with them from a US market TL.

Welcome Bonafyde !

'95 Honda Saber, hmmm....that may be rather difficult to locate parts for.
However, try the site's "1st Gen" sub-forum for a better match up with earlier TL's.
