I assume 500 degree engine paint will suffice for this application...DO NOT USE 1000 or 1500 degree paint for this application since, high heat paints need to cure with at least 600 degrees of heat for like 30 minutes, which under the hood, it doesnt get that hot...and for all you who are questioning this, we have things called plastics under the hood and those would alllllll melt if our hood got that hot...

To paint the plastic valve cover, u can use just regular car enamel. You don't need the high heat stuff. I've had my valve cover painted for months and no chipping etc.

I can't say that I feel the same. I like the look of the 2000-up valve covers better than the old 99's. The old 99 valve covers are just like the accords.
