Painting rusty calipers with POR15
So before I get rims I want my ugly rusted calipers taken care of. I did a search and came across POR15 and decided I liked what I saw so I tried it. After taping off pistons, bleeder valves, sliders and threaded holes I proceeded with the 3 part system. First step was cleaning with marine clean, a water based degreaser. Second step was metal ready. This helps etch the metal and remove some rust as well. Last is spraying the POR15 black. I just followed the instructions on the can. Overall it was pretty easy. Ill post pics of the results later.

I still like solvents and catalyst additives from the old days, but my brain is dead....so who cares ?

The cleaning stuff is water based but the rest is pretty bad. I had a nice buzz going when I was done. Gonna do some touch up later with everything still on the car this time just masked off. It was getting late so I had to put it back together sooner than I wanted too, ended up with a few scuff marks.
