Painting OEM Grill?

At first I was looking to get a Mugen grill off the black market, but someone else got it. Anyways I don't want to pay $400 for a new Mugen painted grill. Does anybody know how or where I can paint the chrome on the original grill. If anybody has tried this list some steps and products you used to help me out. Anything helps. Thanks

Leave the door handles! Everyone with an Accord wants to paint their door handles chrome...go figure!

I think the handles break the monotony of the sides of the car but the front has too much chrome.

I think I might just paint the A symbol black and/or the chrome circles around it to reduce the glare at the front end.

i couldn't believe it!.

anyway....it has to get repainted.

now is a good time to do the grill.

but i wonder if it would look better body color or black?..

what do you think?.

Sorry to see your damage. If you're going to paint it, go body color.

I don't think it's worth the effort on your car. It already blends into the boy colour nicely.

If I were you I'd experiment with photoshop but I think what would look best is everything black except the A.

Nice work El Pana. What kind of paint did you use? Did you treat the grill first or prime it?

How long has the paint held up?

The chrome grill part shouldn't be that bad to paint. I would think all you would have to do is sand it down and paint it and then throw some clearcoat on top...

The paint is there to stay... I've had it for about six months now with no chips. It's the actual OEM Black... and yes the the surface was sand in preparation, and we mix a little bit of hardener also, considering it was going to take a beating with little rocks on the highway.

The clear coat also added some more protection. I had it all SSM at one point with the chrome emblem, but prefered the look of the grill in black and chrome.

You know what, I actually have a second grill... I swap it out when I feel like changing the look. I could sell it to you if you are interested. Could even paint it and send it. Let me know guys!

You could always try it with electricians tape first to see how it looks....

What kind of grill is it El Pana. Thanks for the posts ya'll but if I get it done I doubt I'm going to do it myself I don't like messing with anything paintwise on the car body calipers are easy but this is a lot different.

I was kinda split on if I liked it or not, so I went back to the chrome.
PS.
Yes I know there is a slight color difference. Thats what I get for not getting color matched and going with the color code. Also the rest of the car is dirty.

Looks clean! I would move the inspire badge to the upper left or right corner, I think it would flow better with the grill.

Looking HOT. The car looks alright too I like the painted whited out headlights. I'm probably going to clear and blackout the headlights and paint the grill black then mesh out the bottom and the grill.

I folded back the mesh behind the bumper's edges and used thick adhesive to hold it in place along all the edges. No problems as of yet (knock on wood)
