there are no aftermarket grils for the newer tls
only JDM ones
there is a saber and an inspire grill they both had "H" instead of the Acura "A"

as for painting them, there are very few ppl who did this, when i asked a shop, they said the plastic there isnt great to paint on top of, and it may chip easily..

it definately looks good tho

yea i figured it would be hard to do paint the grill cause its hard to have paint adhere to the grill and once they do it one little pebble can chip the hell out of it....wonder y they dont develope better paint guess there isnt a huge calling for it...it would be nice if someone developed a clear grill which u could paint from behind so chipping isnt a problem...but well see more and more the tls is getting popular they only problem is its still looked at as a lux/sports cars which it should but hookin it up is harder...oh well hope the future products do include r cars...well jsut have to be patient but whats that...he he thanx man

I painted mine a year ago and I haven't had a single chip yet. Here's a pic of what it looks like.

He went to an autobody shop in Tarrytown, NY.... Dave's Auto Body. I went to the same guy and he painted my spoiler and engine pieces. Did a great job... all we had to do was give him the paint code.... and he did the rest

hey, not to hijack the thread or anything, but do you guys know a good shop that will install performance parts like Intake, exhaust, in the westchester area? I'm in White Plains and just picked up my 03 ABP TL-S...

That was my problem too... there aren't many around here. The only people I trust is Park Ave Acura in NJ. It's about 45 min. away from me (probably closer for you since you're further south). Prices are a little higher then a performance shop, but I'd rather pay a little more for a dealer install.

Personally I installed the exhaust and intake myself. I have never done anything other then change oil on a car, but I was able to do the exhaust in about 30 min., and the intake in just over 2 hours. My headers will be going on in the spring, and those will be installed by Park Ave. Check out their site at www.parkaveacura.com .... if you go to the Comptech section you'll see some prices.

BTW... good color choice

My friend and I do all of my installs...make us an offer and we can probably take care of yours too. We live 5 minutes from White Plains. We do the work at his father's bus charter garage in Yonkers. Let me know.

did you buy the exhaust from Park Ave. or somewhere else, how much do they charge for labor per hour?

Well, dealers always charge more b/c they have a minimum labor rate they charge.

It was very easy. 4 bolts... two on each side. Removed the factory bolts and hangers, took off the exhaust, put on the Comptech's, installed the hangers, used the bolts they provided and done. I didn't even have to jack up the car. The biggest pain in the ass was removing the factory bolts b/c they were fukin tight.....

FYI.. bought the exhaust from this site. (Tip, they're cheaper if you're a Premium member).....

Elegant TLS painted the black portion of the grill with a gloss black paint. Looked pretty tight. Looks better than the "dull" look of the plastic.

hahahaha yea it is really that easy. me and friend did it in about 30 mins to. we had to use alot of wd-40 to get the rusted bolts of but besides that it was the easiest thing in the world. we had ramps so it made it alot easier.

cancel your appointment and do it yourself. or you can come to me and ill do it for half the cost.

What kind of prep work did you do? Also, what kind of paint was it? It looks good.
