paint job murdered by road lines painting crew
They painted the white lines on the road where I live, and now the entire left and right lower sections of my car have lines and splatter of white speckles and paint!
It doesn't come off easy at all - I've tried washing (useless), Tarminator (not too helpful),etc.
The only thing that works is my fingernail, but there are thousands of spots and this would be more harmful too.
Any suggestions before I call my insurance company?
Has this ever happened to any of you out there?
I have ABP, so it shows up terribly! It looks like someone splatter painted my undersides!!!!!!!!!
thanks for the help

Call your state's Department Of Transportation and speak to someone IN CHARGE. Tell them you have retained a lawyer and will test a smaple of the paint to prove it's the same **** they used. Above all scream within limits and kick ass or nothing will get done. If it was a private company follow the same steps, but hopefully they will move faster than the city government. Don't bother calling your insurance company, no point in filing a claim and getting ur rates jacked for something you solve yourself. After you notify the city, get a paintjob or whatever you need, setlle the bill with the bodyshop then retain a detailed copy and include it in your complaint to the city.

Laquer Thinner/Paint Thinner works well. Try a small spot first. Your clear coat and wax should keep it from harming the actual paint on the car. I know detail shops use this to remove road crap before detailing. Good luck!

Clay Bars found at the local autoparts store were made exactly for this kind of thing. Believe it or not, but ClayMagic is actually one of the better ones out there, better than Mothers and Meguiars. Do it quick though, the longer you leave it on the harder it is to get off.

thanks
thank you all for the replies and info.
I'm going to seek professional help tomorow = detailing service, as I don't have time to deal with it myself.
any suggestion for what to do to the areas where it scratched off the clear coat because I was a little to abrasive in my efforts to get it off???

road paint
Very simple answer. Go to Home Depot or Lowes paint dept, ask
for "M1 Remover". This stuff is ABSOLUTELY safe on car finishes
(I have used MANY times, i.e. overspray from the body shop, road paint, tar, dried bird ****, etc.) Leaves NO residue ! Comes off instantly with a clean, terry cloth towel.
