Why do people sign up for something, and then back out?!? (Other than the unexpected, of course)
I guess this means no P2R TB spacers. Excelerate, how do I go about getting a refund?

I have a few questions about these.
1. How many are left, if any, for purchase?
2. How effective would this mod be without also a manifold thermo spacer? Is cooling just the TB enough to make a difference? Isn't most of the heat we want to "get rid of" from the manifold (prevent heat transfer to the manifold)?
3. This is more of a "big picture" question. Is the air going into the engine in the TB and/or manifold "long enough" for it to get heated up that much to reduce HP?
4. Any ideas what they would do to MPG?
Thanks in advance.

As far as questions 2-4 go, I'll leave that up to Excelerate to answer for you.

2. The TB thermal gaskets are enough to cool the intake charge; of course the IMG will also help but it isn't necessary to see gains.
3. The thermal gaskets P2R makes are much more heat resistant than any other material on the market. They prevent metal to metal contact and therefore heat transference. It definitely cools the intake charge.
4. It should improve it as long as you aren't constantly WOT but the mileage gains will be minimal.

Should I buy this OR....
Can someone advise me, would it make sense for me to buy this? Or should I rather install a Type-S throttle body into my TL-P? I am kinda clueless about engines (am ready to learn though). Sorry if I sound ignorant, but would any of this interfere with a short ram air intake that I've installed (Weapon R Secret Weapon)?
Thanks for helping out a newbie folks!!

dont be changing things around with the TB!!- the manifolds are different, the exhaust wont bolt up for example- wouldn't surprise me if the TB mounting plate is different just to screw with you~
IMO-- seperating/isolating-insulating the rising heat is good plan- but I already have the outlaw intake heat resistor for the intake manifold to engine connection-
there is a lot of heat coming up the center of a V6 and right into the aluminum manifold
Hotter air is less dense, so less efficient combustion- = less power= less toque
cold dense air is good~
Watch PINKS- they throw bags of ice on the manifold to cool and cold soak it between runs, then try and get the other guy to have his engien running at stopped position- getting hot and pumping that heat into the manifold........
a longer TB runner- such as the P2R and its total heat isolation material is good too.
THe scienc is explained elsewhere but its sound.
There are coolant (filled with 200 degree water) lines run up there too
those are not helping either
There is a measureable heat rise of about 20-25F from outside air to air in the manifold- on the stock setup- as measure with drive around computer hooked up, giving data on a gen3 TL
On the short ram- you are cheating yourself- its just pulling hot engine compartment air in!- thats not better than the normal setup-which gets outside air behind the bumper-- except the more free flowing intake.
Others can remove the stock intake resonator box between the front bumber and the inner fender liner- makes all that area a huge airbox for the engine to draw from- and its inlets are the bottem of the airbox- up safe from water incidents
convert the short ram to a full length and get way better performance
You MAY need to alter the length of the tube for the CAI since the P2R spacer is longer than stock
And the throttle cables need to be cleaned -lubed and reset properly with the new spacer.
Get caught up on a few other parts still to install here--too many things in boxes and not on car, and then get me one of these!
Once the first ziners who already paid get theirs and install- we can have real world feedback and Josh wont be able to fill the orders~

hmm...
thanks for the tips 01tl4tl. yeah, i did remove the intake resonator, and my short ram is the weapon r secret weapon intake which is supposed to have higher gains than most CAI's. i don't know if that is true, but i do know that once installed, it coverted my vehicle into a monster! no kidding, this car chirps and chirps like one happy bird.
hmm, so i should stay away from the type-s mods, and just go with the spacer on this thread? it should be better than the outlaw engineering ones?
thanks again!

UPDATE:
P2R is going to be finishing the TL-P spacers up sometime next week. Then it will take about 4-5 days to get to me. They were waiting on material to make the gaskets and now it's just about finished.
