Owners with 2k3 TL-S

Was close to buying an ABP and also an Anthracite (love that color) Type-S. Both were demos. I noted on both of them that the shifting from 2-3 either on Full Auto mode or SS mode seemed a bit harsh, the ABP even had a sklight "clunk". Thankfully, I settled for a brand new SSM Type-S (manuf 11/02 vin ***3A805066) and never noticed any of the tranny behaviors from the two previous cars. Maybe 'coz they were demonstrators and they were abused. Just guessing.
Anyway my SSM now has 8,000 kms (5,000 mile) and still drives like new. The only thing I noticed was now it has a bit of a slight rumble and the VTEC "roars" much more louder.

7900 miles and bought 5/03 and the tranny is ok, although it is shifting hard at the 32-37 mph range and has hesitated a few times up in the 53-57 mph range.
Dealer said the 32-37 mph hard is normal, and couldn't reproduce the shifting in the 50s (which is really intermittant so I believe it).
Other than that - hmm, had to repaint the back bumper due to an idiot kid scraping the paint off, have a 1" long, .2" wide mark just under my right headlamp from a stone off a truck on the highway and had to have my windshield replaced from the same stone when it cracked my windshield.

That sucks balls. I hate rocks on the freeway. I blame those dump trucks and simi trucks for hauling rocks in the first place. They need to be in a sealed container, not some cheap ass tarp tied on just the four corners. They dump pebbles all over the road only to be picked up by other peoples' tires and catapulted into your windshield.
Ugh I feel your pain.

Atleast you guys didn't do what I did. The first week I got mine I washed it using an old mitt that I guess had a pebble in it. After drying it off I realized I had scratch marks every where I went on my car. I don't think I've ever been so pissed, this is something touch up paint won't correct. How dumb could I be?!

I'm seeing a lot of large trucks around here that have a sign on the back that say something to the tune of "Not responsible for loose debris" or "Stay back 100 ft." on a dump truck. Given the size of the lettering on the sign I couldn't even read the sign from 100 ft.!
A few years ago I would park in a downtown garage that valet's your car into the garage for you (no, your not allowed to do it yourself). They have signs there saying that their insurance does not cover damage to your car. Of course, one day I picked up my car and there were two scratches on it. One on the rear spoiler where someone was squeezing between two cars to get to the one they needed when their belt buckle scraped a gouge into it. and another I can't explain. Anyway the manager was ignoring me so I wrote a certified letter to the owning of the garage saying that he has 7 days to reply. In the letter was pictures of the damage with a dollar bill as a reference to size and a statement pointing to the fact that even though they do not have insurance to cover such things they are STILL responsible for the damages. I work for a court reporting firm so I borrowed some "Plaintiff's Exhibit" stickers and put them on the pictures. I also put the letter on my company letterhead saying that I appoligize for using the office letter head as they have to concern in this case but I hold no reservations employing their services. They cut me a check and trold me to park somewhere else. That's when I started taking the bus from the Park-n-Ride.

I'm at 12,900 miles. I took delivery of the car at the end of September 2002 (it had 5 miles on it). No problems with the transmission to speak of. My car is NOT part of the transmission recall.

I've noticed little tiny scratches. Not sure if you call it that on my TL-S from like twigs at my girlfriend's place. They aren't hard at all so not sure why they are showing up. It's really faint, you have to have an eye like mine to see I'll be wiping those out though just because they bother me :P

OUCH! That did hurt My dad has some stuff that is like a wax (similar looking container too) that you can rub out scratches. It's not one of those "As Seen on TV" things. I don't know where he got it. I'll get the brand name next time I go over there. It works like a charm. I had my previous Z06 washed in our parking lot at work and the idiots evidently rubbed against a yellow pole, you know the ones that are there to prevent you from parking in that spot. Anyway I was pissed as they were kind enough to NOT mention it. I took it to my dad's to visit and noticed it on there. Used this stuff he has and wiped it right out. I was fortunate that there wasn't a dent or anything. Just looked like paint was rubbed off on it. I'll never have them wash it again. Sad because they do a good job minus rubbing your car against poles.

I just joined this forum and trying to figure out how to use it. I have a 2003 tls with 6500 hard miles on it. No tranny problems yet. I looked on the american honda motors owner link for recall information and my car is not part of the transmission warranty extension. Can assume my car has the upgraded tranny?

2003 TLs have an upgraded tranny, the amount upgraded depends on when your car was manufactured. Different manufacture dates have trannies with different levels of upgrades present - there was a great website with the documentation on the dates and the upgrades but I don't remember it offhand.
As for rocks, yeah it sucks - waiting to get the touch up paint and do some surgery. Hopefully, I'll get it to the point that its not noticable.
Anyone know what the effect of having my front bumper repainted would have on the return of the car on a lease? I've heard differing things.
