those bulbs are no good. First, since we have reflectors, we need to use the D2R bulbs, which have a strip of paint on the bulb itself, to help prevent glare. D2S bulbs are made for projector housings and don't have that strip of paint. They prevent glare by having a cutoff shield in the housing.

And despite what the ebay post says, 4300K is the best and brightest. 8000K is bluer, but you are gaining color at the expense of usable light output

well if i run into that problem, i can always return em or just get some high temp. paint and get my little brush out and paint the small line... couldn't i?

i have to disagree with that, my cousin has an 01 TL, he bought 8000K bulbs before i did,, when we put them in,, we also did like the ebay picture, by just putting one side in and light was not sacrificed at all, it was much brighter than the stock side.

can i ask what you don't like about the setup?

i'll take any info, negative or positive

on a side note,, this is my first foreign car guys,, before this i had a 94 Z28 that did 13's all day in the 1/4 mile, and before that a 91 LT1 Corvette... but as we grow up,, the toys had to be sold and something more practical had to be bought,, thus the TL.. so if some my choices are a little whacked on what to do with this car,, it's because really i don't know much about modding an ImPort,, i just know stickers are bad, wings that go higher than the roof are bad, and fart cannons is a big no no lol

Being the parts business for the last 18 years I have yet to see an aftermarket set of headlights come close to the factory unitswhen it comes to quality. Every person I have sold lights to or have seen that has them has fogging and leakage problems. I hope you get lucky, but I would not bet on it. Most of them tend to expire just as the 12mo warranty runs out. I also have heard about the aftermarket pillar covers fitting bad. Take photos once your done. Maybe you will have different luck then the others before you.

Dont be misled or misinformed by other HID brands' claims on Kelvin ratings . To set the record straight on Kelvin ratings as applied to HID :

* Kelvin is a measure of colour temperature and NOT the actual lighting power or output
* It is generally accepted that the best Kelvin rating for optimal human night vision is between 3800 and 5500 K
* All our 35 W HID kits run at 4100 K , and our 50W Racing kits are available at 4000 TO 5500 K
* Anything over 5750 K and human vision and depth perception is significantly reduced
* Anything over 6000 K and the actual lighting output/power reduces exponentially
* Many companies claim to offer 8000- 12000 K Bulbs ...if this were true the headlight would shine DARK BLUE TO EVEN DARKER PURPLE !!

A picture from the website you gave a link to.
Notice how much brighter the stock 4300K is than the 8-10,000K. Just my .

I have to agree with ^^^, I think the 8-10000K bulbs just give you a bluer light color. And you are confusing it with "STRONGER" "BRIGHTER" light, when in reality all you are getting is color on the road. I think the only true BRIGHTER hid bulbs I have seen are those on Maybachs, Ferrari's, and Phantoms. I used to buy tons of crap for my other car from ebay, until I started to realize that some ebay sellers sometimes just want to sell you crap. Don't believe all the crap you read on ebay, do your research, specially here in Acurazine. It would be a shame if you spent all that money and nothing looked good or fit. Good Luck and happy Modding.

hey i said i would post pics as i received my parts and installed them,, well so far i have receieved my 8000K bulbs and i couldn't be happier with that purchase,, WELL worth the money spent,, not sure what the other guys were talkin about by glare,, and no usable light because i don't have either of the problems, and i got a 5 year warrenty if they ever fail , i also receieved my chrome pillars and they look amazing NO fitment issues AT ALL,, they are perfect and install took all of 20 mins. just waiting for my headlights to come on tuesday.. one problem,, how the #$#@ do i post pics,, i did a search and can't find the thread that tells you how.. i use imageshack to host my pics and i tryed using the hotlink for websites link and it just shows up as a link,, am i supposed to use the direct link? the last one after you upload?

Thumbs up The Headlights Are Here!!!

hey yea the pillars are great quality,, they stay on with heavy duty 3m,, they give you alcohol swaps to clean the areas first,, then they give you this 3m primer that you have to wipe on as well,, these are not coming off any time soon that is for sure,, but i was thinking i would want to make it more permanent because it doesn't look overdone at all,, maybe some super glue to make it more permanent.

now,,, here they are,, the lights everyones been waitin to see,, i just got them today late afternoon,, would have installed em but i was still celebrating memorial day weekend but here are some pics of them out of the box!

i'll take some pics in the sun just before i install em tomorrow after work,,, they look really nice in person, sorry forthe quality of the pics again.

do the pillars interfere with opening the doors? when i had carbon fiber ones they would get caught on the door. if not i may have to pick some up. and i hope those headlights dont have any fitment issues, it would be a easier alternative to blacking out the stock ones

Hey whats up
the pillars do not interfere at all with the door,, they can't be right up against each other because the doors wouldn't open right, it would fuckthe pillars up.

As for the headlights they came out PERFECT guys. i'm so happy about this, everyone kept sayin your gonna have fitment issues, not gonna look right,, guys let me say this,, some people like to jump on those bandwagons and put down things other people would risk to try out on their car,, Those people haven't bought the product so you can't knock it till you've tryed it. These things are sick .. they are very classy look, Excellent quality, transfering al lmy HID stuff from the old headlights was the most time consuming part of the project,, took me all afternoon but i am DONE! my 8000K bulbs look sick in their,, it's dusk right now here in jersey,, i'm goin to take pics of the lights for you guys,, very happy with this purchase i recommend em for the 99-01 guys. Pics will be here with in an hour or so.

Oh and to the other guy who said my pillars isn't his thing then so be it,, i don't care dude lol alot of people like them,, guess u have to see in person. and as for my glare,, uh no not really bro,, wait till u see the pics i take,, i'm sure my new headlights fixed alot of that glare problem you think i have.

They Do u guys have to see it in person,, the camera,, or at aleast my cell phone doesn't capture the detail from afar when i try to take pics of the lights on like a digital camera would,, my phone over exposes's them a lil bit, but if i get up real close it gets the detail,, but i'm sure people wanna see detail from a distance to get an idea for their... but here goes.

next post is the pics i promised yesterday

Starting a new thread for the pictures, because im sure their are going to be questions. new post is going to be called Part 2 of o0o0o excited.
