Post Onstar?

I am wondering will Onstar be offered in the 2003 version of the TL-S? I went to the dealership and was told it is available in the RL..but not offered in the TL for now *Emphasis on "for now"* Does anyone know????

DITTO!

I like to think Onstar is reserved for the old folks in their GMs.

OnStar is pointless

Until OnStar reach its sophistication as in the 6th day movie , I'd say it's nothing to nav systems , just my 2 cents.

After playing with the NAV system, I have to say it does kick the crap out of OnStar... but OnStar does alert authorities of your location when your airbags deploy.. and they can always unlock your car if you lock your keys inside which is kind of a cool feature.

Acura must approve of it if they're using it on their flagship sedan.

Yeah but what if your on your way home after leaving a bar LOL. Tap into a tree and the airbags go off. BAM DWI, DUI.

I thought they were going to install those with Breathilizers <sp> so the car will not start if your drunk.

Don't worry NYDennis1, OnStar calls you first when your airbag deploys to see if you need help.
The problem with OnStar is that they do not continually track you. You lose contact with them for about 30 - 40 seconds everytime they try to find you. Plus, the quality of the reps are very inconsistent. Some are terrific while some are clueless. One of them couldn't find the New Jersey Turnpike for me last week.

What I don't understand is why Acura didn't integrate OnStar into the Navi system the way M-B has with their versions, TeleAid, and COMAND. In a M-B equipped with COMAND, you get a home page on the M-B USA website where you can select Internet content that can be downloaded to the COMAND display via TeleAid while you're driving. It sound's foolish, but you can get sport scores, stock quotes, weather, top news, and traffic updates downloaded to the car by pushing a single button. M-B has also integrated the cell phone function into COMAND. I guess Acura will do something similar with the next major Navi re-write.
