I love this message board it is truly fun to mention real life driving scenarios that happen-

I was coming home from the city (Chicago about 9:00 P.M.) I had a meeting and I was alcohol free and just hit 2000 miles- I came up to a new Maxima and we played around a bit-

I can't even explain how sensitive my trans was and maybe it was one of those nights where I was shifting properly- I rarely use SS and when I did this car backed itself- This car hauls balls!

The only caveat is my center counsel will not close- maybe I was holding on with my life with my elbow and bent the latch!!! Oh- well off to the dealer tomorrow

Just thought I would share some + feedback!

I have already had the dealer look at the console and they claimed to have fixed. Now it is so bad that it won't even close!

I callled the service dept. and he said they could tweak it- which is basically saying it will happen again, i will try and shoot for a new console- at least the latching mechanism-

As for the aggresive driving the new Max packs 255 H.P. I think like its rival the I35.

It came down to speed and manuevarability. It was fun although we could have been cited for reckless driving if we were spotted by the 5.0- Police-

I never put anyone innocent in harms way --- Ya just gotta drive the pig once in a while!!

ask the dealer to replace the latch, that's what they did for me. yes it's under warranty, and it happens to a lot of owners

also, as long as it's not the new 6 speed max you can eat them. and don't mention the i35, it's even slower...

The Maximas are strong cars and are very similar to our TLSs. I think we fall in between the stick and the auto and all are close. I am slowly coming to appreciate the look of the new Max (right before it changes again! - go figure).

I had a run with some type of wagon the other day (can't remember what it was but he asked for it). I was in the left going about 80 (traffic was very light - three lane hwy). The guy I catch up to moves to the right and when I pass him I guess he didn't like it. He then gets on my ass (now I am going 85) and stays there. Well I push the pedal down a little bit and the car downshifts and begins to pull (unfortunately I think it was now in fourth - didn't think I needed to SS it). I get away from him now doing about 100 and then slow back down to 80 (only about 10 or so carlengths). Now I see him catching up and so this time I gun the car (not WOT but almost) and continuing pulling on him until 110 when I slow down. At this point I think he had enough because I drop down to 75 and he is no longer catching up. I was impressed with the car's pulling even if the other car/wagon was not real competition. I wasn't giving my all and he was asking for it. I also want to build my confidence up before I start going for the bigger fish!
