Ok, got my 2002 TL-S back from dealer
..and after a week with the Ford Taurus rental car, I feel like I'm back in heaven. The tranny went out and it was at the dealer for a week. Got it back and it shifts smooth just like new.
My wife went to pick it up and she asked the dealer about the tranny problem and he told her that "problems are due to people dogging the transmission". She got pissed off and explained that it's our family car and that she drives the kids in it (which is true) and can assure him that it doesn't get dogged (perhaps this is why we made it to 40K instead of 20K miles).
I want to sell this car so I don't have to deal with more failed trannies and the comments by the dealership sounds like they don't want to accept responsibility for the problem and want to blame the drivers which is just wrong! I'm ready to sell this car, but it's such a fun car to drive and it looks pimp. Certainly has the performance that an RX330 doesn't have and I don't owe too much on it. Hmmm, decisions.
